Photovoltaic system

|
|
Panels covered with cells based on silicon that are exposed to the solar radiation to produce electricity. The produced electricity can feed a single site or be put back into to the general distribution network.

There are three types of photovoltaic cells :
Polycrystalline cells :
This is the most common technique in the world. Through intensive research, these cells (e.g. those of KYOCERA) have an energetic efficiency as high as monocrystalline cells, for less manufacturing costs.
Monocrystalline silicon cells :
Their uniform surface and rounded corners are characteristic. Previously known for their high efficiency, they are currently more and more outpaced by polycrystalline cells.
Amorphous cells :
Their manufacturing process by spraying silicon directly on a support is economic. In return, their low performance requires larger areas of installation.
